Road to Eugene, Road to Rio

I've made it safely to Eugene and am all settled here in my hotel, eagerly awaiting Saturday's Olympic Trials 10,000 meters. At long last, I'll be on the starting line at Hayward Field instead of in the stands watching. This in and of itself is an accomplishment and a moment to celebrate - and believe me, I am thrilled to be here! But there's also a job to do, and that's where my head is at right now.

Warm welcome at the Eugene Airport

In the spirit of mindfulness, accomplishing the task at hand, and soaking up every moment of the Trials, I'm tuning out of the internet and phone world for the next few days. I'll catch you on the other side!

Many family and friends are descending upon Eugene to support and cheer - if you're here, come say hello after the race! If you're watching from home, here's how to tune in: http://olympics.nbcsports.com/2016/06/27/track-and-field-olympic-trials-broadcast-schedule/ My race goes off at 11:04 am PST.

There's not much left to say but THANK YOU to all who've taken part in this journey with me - what an incredible road to be on! So much has happened over the past 6 years, and there's so much more ahead. Thanks for sharing some miles with me <3

I leave you with this - a note from the trail-blazing, inspiring basketball coach, Pat Summitt, to one of her athletes:
