New Uniforms! |
Steph, Annie, Chantelle, and I hit the road Thursday afternoon; we're piling into Steph's car (affectionately dubbed "Robby") and road-tripping from Palo Alto to LA. It's a long drive, but I'm sure we'll have plenty to entertain us during the trip. I'm so glad to be making the trip with teammates - it'll be much more fun (and less intimidating!) than traveling alone. Here's to a weekend of fast racing by NBSV ladies!
You can watch my race on the live webcast here: http://www.mtsacrelays.com/webcast.html - I'm in the Open A heat of the Women's 5K. Tune in at 9:30 to watch me circle the track 12 1/2 times! (Official race start is 9:34 pm).
In other running news...
--USF ladies Maor Tiyouri and Jana Stolting will chase NCAA qualifiers in the 10K at Mt. SAC on Thursday night. Having trained with these ladies for the past few weeks, I know that they're fit and ready to rock this 25-lapper - Go Dons! --Former teammate and one of my very best friends Caitlin Fitzgerald ran a HUGE PR in the 3K Steeple last week at Sac State, running 10:31.72, just 0.07 off the UC Davis school record. For her efforts, she was honored as the Big West Athlete of the Week this week -- yay Fitz! Here's to hoping that this most recent race will inspire her to pursue a post-collegiate career and come train with me in SF! --Stanford and Cal square off at the Big Meet this Saturday at Stanford. My little bro, Brendan, will be racing the 3K. I'm excited to join my entire family to cheer him on! For results, check out http://www.gostanford.com/sports/c-track/stan-c-track-body.html.
Thanks to everyone for the recent well-wishes and words of support - they mean so much! When it's windy or rainy outside, or I'm exhausted from a long week, I think back to your encouraging words and it helps me get out the door for my run! Many, many thanks for your support of my running dreams :)
Happy running!
